The Sri Sri Center for Media Studies' mandate is to train and develop
caring, compassionate and constructive media professionals who will be
a reliable information resource for the people in a democracy. The
biggest challenge of being a journalist is being fair, objective and
truthful in a myriad of situations. With modern society being as
diverse and complex as it is, the commitment to uphold truth,
goodness, beauty and basic human values are values a budding
journalist should train to possess. The value-based education system
of the school helps tremendously in this aspect, grooming a raw
graduate into a professional journalist with commitment, passion and
sensitivity.
Established in 2001 under the aegis of the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya
Mandir trust, the campus has a computer news lab, a digital studio and
well stocked library for research. The school teaches the students to
cope with both the electronic and print media with courses that create
confidence and skills to handle the pressure and tactics of the
profession.
